The History of Glamping with a Cause

Glamping with a Cause emerged from a crucial need: providing meaningful activities for clients who had completed traditional therapy (PT, OT, and SLP) after brain injuries. Families consistently sought recommendations for safe outdoor outings or short vacations catering to clients with behavioral challenges or physical handicaps. The organization’s mission is to create accessible and enjoyable experiences for these individuals, fostering healing and connection.

Data from the National Institutes of Health suggests that the natural environment offers multisensory stimulation, sensory-motor training, and opportunities for mental restoration. Nature Based Rehabilitation promotes social engagement, cooperation, and feelings of being in the same boat and may increase autonomy, self-efficacy, activity, and participation.

Glamping with a Cause is making a difference by combining adventure, compassion, and purpose. 🌿🏞️🌟

Our Mission and Goals

Our Mission is to help brain injured individuals to regain their mental health by affording them the the most advanced therapies available.

Our long term goal is to acquire property in North Georgia, strategically located near major hospitals and the Shepherd Center. This property will serve as a haven for clients with brain injuries, providing a safe and supportive environment.

By owning a private property, Glamping with a Cause can offer Holistic Healing through extended stays, retreats, and immersive experiences that promote healing, connection, and well-being.

In the meantime, the organization focuses on day excursions. These outings allow clients to benefit from therapeutic effects while enjoying nature, fresh air, and engaging activities.

Trained volunteers are necessary to accompany clients during these excursions, providing companionship, assistance, and understanding. Their expertise in brain injury support ensures a positive experience for everyone involved.
